- The commercial door needed the cylinder changed so old keys would no longer work.
- Diagnosis
- On a mortise lock the cylinder comes out of the door. Rekey or replace that cylinder; the mortise body stays if it is sound.
- Work
- Remove the mortise cylinder from the commercial door.
- Rekey the cylinder and confirm the cam and latch still throw.
- Return the cylinder to the door and issue new keys.
- Result
- Old keys retired. Door locks on the new keys.
